Klipheuwel Farm and all our trails are located within the Cape Floral Kingdom, which stretches over most of the Western Cape of South Africa. What makes the Cape Floral Kingdom so unique is the fact that it is one of the world's most diverse and abundant floral areas in the world. Home to about one-fifth of the vegetation in all of Africa. It contains an estimated 9 500 species, of which 70% do not grow anywhere else in the world. Only 9% of the biome is formally protected.
At The Hex Trails we believe in the conservation and protection of this unique natural habitat, therefore we will not tolerate any littering, smoking or fires on the trails. All participants are responsible for making sure anything they discard goes into a rubbish bin. If any wild animals are encountered on the trails, do not feed or scare them, just pass them at a safe distance and continue your run or hike. A portion of the funds will go towards the conservation of the existing trails and also the responsible construction of new trails.
